A very heartfelt thank you to Dennis of photosbydennis for sharing his wonderful pictures via email with me.Your most welcome...and thanks.
Some truly spectacular shots Dennis!...
:D
They're stunning!! - I don't know if this is a hobby or a business for Dennis, but I feel a bit guilty having the pics all over my computer desktops - for free!! ;D...no just a hobby. I call it a passion,my wife calls it an obsession, but loves the photos that are displayed in the back room. She does sometimes look at me strange when I tell her on a Sat or Sun morning...I'm meeting Tracy on the roof...lol
...I'm meeting Tracy on the roof...lol
You are welcome. Now get out side and take more pictures for us.
;)
He does! You saw that lens at our Phanatics meeting -- gotta be 2 feet long! Well, 1 foot, at least! How DO you hold that up, Dennis? :DThe lens is just over 12in. long...and heavy. Not something you want to carey around your neck all day.
It interests me that with all the lousy days we've had, all your photos have a brilliant blue sky!Hmmmm.....Photo-Shop ???.....Naaahhhhhh ;D - Seriously though - that one today of the Swainson - full face close-up - tongue and all - amazing!!!!! :o

Only if you're going to buy cold beer ;)
Aren't y'all glad I returned his phone call back in 2006 ;D
Was the picture of TPC braving the cold winds on the roof taken at the West Winnipeg location?
Sorry Liz!!!Great idea, but not today -- it's flippin' nasty out there! I hope they didn't come home this weekend.
But hey, look on the bright side, a little walk downtown to the Radisson, you'll have a front row seat!!! And then the rest of us will be jealous of you because you live so close!
TPC...HELP if this isn't the right spot for this post!!! I'm really not sure where to post this message but I thought in "Bits & Pieces" was a pretty good place.Yeah, there doesn't seem to be a way to start a new topic. hmm
I just wanted to remind everyone out there that this Saturday, March 28th at 8:30 pm is EARTH HOUR!!!!! You can log onto:

It's really easy...if we all do our part we can make a difference!!!! 8)
Some boards have the new topic option, others don't. The Peregrine Room board does at the moment, so you could try there, Sami. TPC always sorts things out anyway.TPC...HELP if this isn't the right spot for this post!!! There is an Earth Week thread in the Peregrine Room (moved your post - TPC)
Perhaps the goose in the planter in a Shopping Mall parking lot would count ??Absolutely!!!
... because bccs is planning on wearing a nest costume and figured you could take a photo of it. honest. she told me so. 8)And the bunnies have bolted and are hiding rotflmfao ;D ;D
bccs, how the heck should I know what your nest costume looks like? it wasn't my idea!
oh sure, Enraptured. post on topic and make us all look goofy.LOL! I agree. But, like,.. he should be entering photo contests, right? (And let's not embarrass him with costumes or talk thereof, k? ;D)
like we need the help. :)
Logic.... Vulcan logic..... the new Startrek prequel is fabulous!
(off topic)
bccs, how the heck should I know what your nest costume looks like? it wasn't my idea!
Lol, was loriann in on this?? Are the 2 of you conspiring against me?
But, now that the idea is out here, hmmmmm, nest costume, why wait for halloween ;D ;D

i proclaim innocence in ALL of this, but if you MUST wear a nest costume does this mean you will be offering to show people your BIRD instead of your BUNNY, because that would keep the thread on topic, because we know Dennis likes to photograph BIRDS, and because , well, it would be a whole new topic for the next day. can't wait for dennis' emails the next day......... lol
I would think perhaps Swainson Hawk.
http://www.pbase.com/photosbydennis/swainson_hawks
Have seen a number along Bishop perched on the light stands or soring over head.
I hate Monday mornings...sift work !!
Was busy going through Swainson Hawk photos...and have just loaded some more photos from Banding Day.

Just amazing! I really love the pictures of Zeus flying upside down.I'm going to find you a link to watch peregrines in flight.....give me some time, but I'll find it for you.
wow! image 470-1 is my new wallpaper. :)OK so I thought this was a seriously cool idea and I made it my wallpaper but it is such a startling picture that it gave me a little jump everytime I turned on the screen so I changed it to one of the puppy at 6 weeks old - awwwwwwww!
You'll find out in a bit, Dennis just sent me some photos of Jules on the JR sign taken from the ground ... that's more than 30 stories up!!!
Amazing!
Think TPC ment to say Princess... ::)
A few more photos have been added to West Winnipeg and Downtown galleries.

Cheers !
Yes, great photos, Dennis! :D I was wondering if it would be possible for you to label a few of the individual photos of Princess and Ivy, so that I can show the Kinderchicklets at school and we can begin to look at similarities and differences between the two birds. Just wondering if this is possible? :-\
Gosh, they are all such wonderful photos. This newbie says thanks!
Are you on Dennis' emailing list Cooper? - If not, just send him a quick request - some awesome photos sent right to your inbox a few times/month! ;D
And yes...Cooper has been added to the list.
Beau sure is a beauty! Name suits him well!
...But I have a question, has anyone ever seen a peregrine that is not (a beauty that is)??Nope! ;D
Those birds seem fairly certain they are being watched! Wonderful pictures.
It looks like Beau has a pinky red spot on his lower chest. What could this be?
WOO HOO!!!!Yes, where?! :-\
Now, where have they decided to nest?
They haved decided to nest on the B&B in the older of the two nestboxes in their territory...
As for the street address, we are keeping that confidential again this year. If we can get them to nest successfully here perhaps in the future we can "spill the beans" but for the moment, we are giving them their space in the hopes that it will increase their odds for success.
This year, Beau took a shine to the location pretty early in their relationship and despite Jules' repeated requests for last year's site.
Been meaning to tell you, dennis, that I saw one of your fabulous photos of one of the Winnipeg peregrine falcons on John Sauder's 6:00 pm TV News/Weather report last Friday evening. :-* Not sure which peregrine it was, though. :-\
I wonder if Dennis would be willing to have his photos put onto keychains, magnets, mugs, Bumperstickers.........all those kinds of doo-dads might do well in the Online Store???... Like the wonderful calendar - but all year round type thing!! ???

Also noticed that quite often the Free Press will have bird pictures with Dennis being the photographer.
...And one of my best finds this spring at a garage sale.....a Dennis photo --- Trey from 2007 on top of one of the building towers downtown. :)What?! :o Someone sold one of Dennis's photo's of Trey at a garage sale?! :o Now who on earth would do that?! :o ;) That photo might have fetched a lot of money on e-bay! ;) Well, at least it has fallen into the right hands, 2kawaii! ;DDENNIS......HE'S EVERYWHERE!
