we had a fight here around 4pm , two males. not pretty but no t the worst I have seen either.
will not post video as I do not post those kinds of things but we still seem to have the banded male and female.
we do believe pair form last year, but you know this cam. impossible to get band reads
they have been in bonding but seem cautious

i have been away but I have had someone monitoring cams. there was a fight in box with females april20. nasty.
but now after all is said and done. we do believe we still have M49 and Male B32. Of course we will never know for sure till we get band reads. they are doing same things as last year.
we were wrong about E4 last year, but having said that, I still think we had her at beginning of of season , cams went off for 3 weeks and then we just assumed it was still her. ( we know a lot can happen in 3 weeks)They walk so much alike.
anyhow.
things appear to have settled down
-
all the patterns point to same pair.
so will wait till banding. things have settled down . I think they are doing windows and wish they would wait till after eggs laid, but we get little cooperation here.

we lost an egg at Bell on may28
at about 3:25pm , the female started eating around the 4 eggs. There was no indication before that, that there was something wrong. At first I thought she was eating prey but alas,no, now only 3 eggs.
it was confusing , as although you could see her eating , you would see 4 eggs . it has been extremely hot for the last week and a half. our birds have really suffered, and struggled to keep eggs cool, . I think it was not viable and exploded. WE saw her eating what appeared to be some of that duck in corner with it , as it appeared stuck on egg.
here is video of event
https://youtu.be/QBMn2IAwnis
then male brings food to ledge and female leaves. male comes in and eats around egg and carried out shell. at end of video you can see to p half of shell gone and it is empty inside. this is why we kept seeing
4 eggs

sorry, it has been a bit but all is well here. our 2 are growing. I think one male and one female. we have great adults here and the nesting area is good but the fledge is trecherous. very few do a full fledge here, meaning , they have to be rescued. and it is too dangerous for them to be put back. I feel for adults here. maybe our one male can have successful fledge, that is if it is a male
wish we could get them to nest a few blocks north and east. they are blocked in here, with most buildings higher and close
