Annie is back with Miracle and they began incubating mid-April. I'll see if I can find any news stories to post.
-
There are now three eggs here and the last egg was laid was on April 22, so they may be getting ready to hatch. I am not sure but there may be a pip in one of the eggs. 8)

Four eggs . . . no longer
It is now safe to say that the 4th egg with the hole that we noticed last week, has been consumed by the adult birds. This is not uncommon, and the parents almost always eat the empty egg shells after the chicks hatch. In this case, the broken egg appeared to be a food source to the adults and was treated as such. It takes a lot of fuel to incubate the eggs, so any source of calories is readily accepted. This now means that we have three eggs in the nest. They should begin hatching within the coming 7 to 10 days!

One hatch here today and there is a pip in one of the other eggs, so another soon. :-*

Ah, nice to see chicks!
-
I thought this was so cute. Dad came in and took the small bit of prey that was in the nest box. He came back a bit later with the same bit of prey and gave it to Miracle. She started to feed the baby and Dad just grabbed a piece from Miracle....he wanted to feed the baby too!

I caught that, too. It was very sweet. I remember seeing Annie and Miracle each feeding half of the chicks one time last year. Totally cute! Thank you for posting the pictures of the little one.

A second baby has hatched. :-* :-*

That was very sweet. Don't think I've ever seen both parents feeding a chick at the same time. Thanks for posting the video, RCF. :)

Looks like Dad snuck in and fed the two little fluffies only until Mom returned and snagged the prey from him. He did a pretty good job, a little messy but the food went into the chicks. :-*

Wow, what a dark head. Just like Beau's! I guess like father, like son.
-
I think there is a 3rd hatch! It looks like a wet little chick and half of a shell under Miracle. :)

Took them a few years to finally get a camera, but when they did, they sure got a nice one.
Beautiful captures RCF!
-
I agree, great photo's RCF!

For those trying to figure out who's who between Miracle and Annie ...
Miracle has two legbands - a black and green on on her left leg and one that looks almost pink on her right.
Annie has only his black band, his silver aluminum band came off somehow.
-
i just watched a very sweet feeding. Miracle was feeding the chicks when Annie came along. She gave him pieces of food, a bite at a time, and they both fed the chicks. :-*
-
It is really neat to see both parents feeding the chicks together, isn't it? 8)

Does this cam have sound? ??? Great cam with a great picture, but I can't hear anything...

Yes, it does have sound or did have sound earlier today. I notice it buzzes sometimes like the McKenzie cam did last year. There is probably something wrong with the microphone like it got water in it or something....but not sure about that, just a guess. ??? ::)
-
I checked this morning and the sound is working again, it wasn't when you were watching susha. It still has some buzzing but I can hear the little ones chirping. :-*
-
Yup! Got sound now ;D
-
We're growing! :)

Wow have they ever grown. Great screen shots RCF.

Not sure the parents can stuff any additional food into those bulging crops! :o

A short video of the three after they were fed. ;D

Holy cats, sure looks like two males and one female to me ... :o ... and I'm not sure we should notice the difference so much at this age! Have to see if the "boys" catch up or if "she" is just a stellar peregrine lady ....

These three are so cute! :-*

It looks like a typical family photo. And their crops look like they are going to burst. Oink!

Could be a new generation of t-shirt. One with a borderline... or American born (from Canadian birds) on the back.

Is it possible to get a copy of the digital image of the "family photo" of the three chicks? They are so cute, and I would love to get it printed to put on my desk. :)

17 June 2014:
The falcon chicks (eyasses) were banded this morning during a public banding session in the sixth floor conference room at the Bank of the West building. Thanks to Master Bander, Tim Driscoll from Grand Forks for ensuring the eyasses were banded successfully! We have two female eyasses and one male. The band numbers and names are as follows: females - blk/red (C/03) is named "Happy"; blk/red (C/04) is named "Sandy" and male - blk/red (H/75)* is named "Jack".

All Chicks Fledged!!
11 July 2014: The falcon chicks (eyasses) have all fledged! They can be seen flying around downtown Fargo on a regular basis. Keeping the camera focused on them is nearly impossible at this point! We will do our best to try and get shots of them as we are able. This also means that another season of the Falcon Cam is coming to a close. The camera feed will be turned off on August 1st, if not before. This date is dependent upon our ability to find the birds easily with the camera, but unfortunately, since they are wild animals and go where they please, this date may come sooner! Thanks to all of our wonderful sponsors and viewers who have joined us for another successful season!

I checked out the area when passing through Fargo last evening and had the privilege of seeing one of the "kids" perched on the top of a cell phone tower not far from the nest box. I couldn't locate the other two, but checked the webcam later, and saw that all three were preening inside the nest box.
(I was also really excited about the owl that I saw on the roof of a nearby building until I checked it out with binoculars and found that it was a fake! ;D )

Wonderful that you were able to see one of the Fargo chicks in person, sparkster!
In the past few years, I have seen the Calgary chicks & the Ottawa chicks in person.
It is exciting to see in person, birds we have been watching on a webcam from afar. :D
