If there ever is a change in resident adults, maybe Gene and Gena  ;)
(don't often get to suggest names for others sites   ;D)

ys, I thought I posted it but I will go and do that if I did not.

Our TR male at Gensse had his removed n Friday. there were also Dummy eggs at the box and so they put the original eggs back. He came back last year and this year and it caused all sorts of drama at the box, failed nest last year and this year it is turning out O.k. HOpefully the other male was not hurt.
some discussion about the transmitters throwing off their honing a bit . Miss Edmonton came back quite a bit earlier this year so we will see if Mr. Genesse does next year. go over an dread at Genesse.

So i am calling them Mr. and Mrs. Genesse

And now we are too !  :D

last week was a false alarm and Gord does not know who was there.  but today Gord and team were out there and eggs were switched back and it does look like they were successful;  in getting Tr off male ;D ;D

First one is when the box closed first time, today . Maybe a test run. Eggs were not exchanged

the second slideshow is when male was in again and box closed and stayed closed for quite a bit and then it was obvious eggs were exchanged and in last picutre(thanks to RCF) it looks like TR is off

I am so excited right now. Now he will get back earlier. AT least Miss Edmonton came back 2.5 weeks earlier without TR this year.

if you were talking about article of Gords, he would have banded her before releasing her.  They were at Genesse today. Box closed quickly so i imagine eggs were exchanged back. I should hear soon.  Male bolted out and then female was in for 6 minutes and she bolted out .I hope they were successful.  this is called GET OFF MY ROOF

Thanks, Elaine.  It does seem a good opportunity to allow followup should the bird be seen again.
I couldn't tell from the article photos of the female peregrine whether she had been banded.

I'm going to have to find a photo of T-Rex - sounds like our T-Rex was a reincarnation of Stud!
Nice article Bev!

Gord says this males totally black head   is reminiscent of he last male peregrine to nest south of the boreal forest and est of the Rockies(1972) . Gord featured this male called STud, in an article in following

 http://www.ab-conservation.com/go/default/index.cfm/publications/conservation-magazine/

When you get into site, click on magazine picutre and it will take you to articles.

Very good reading.

The plan is to put the eggs back if he incubates well...

Wouldn't that be wonderful! :)

Thanks for the report, Bev.  I guess we have no way of knowing whether the unbanded male is still around or has gone elsewhere.

Glad to hear he is doing some incubating.  :-*  When do you think they will put the real eggs back or will they wait until they hatch and put the chicks in the nest.  ???
