allikat:
You're welcome Saoirse!
Sometimes I have to refresh the page.
Right now, the eggs remain uncovered.
I missed the latest attack.....let's hope that the male & female are okay and defending their nest from a viewpoint we can't see.

Elaine L:
Now, the eggs are alone, and have been that way for the last 15 minutes - no sign of mom or dad.  If dad wasn't fighting off the intruder, I have to wonder what happened to him - it is not like a father goose to leave his mate fight off an intruder by herself; his whole job is to protect her.  I don't know how much more drama can happen here - it is hard to say if this is coming to an end or is just the beginning.

I hope the little kids who watch this web site didn't see any of these attacks - it would be traumatic for them; I know how it was for me when I was a kid - it took me years to get over the death of Old Yeller.

Saoirse:
I haven't had any luck getting this cam (using the link at the beginning of the thread) -- is there a different address? Thanks, Elaine L, posting such regular updates on the drama.

Elaine L:
Mother Goose again just attacked, but she refused to yield the nest.  The intruder always bites her on the back of her neck - I guess this could eventually be deadly.  The mom is having a harder time keeping her head up after these attacks, and no sign of dad.

bcbird:
Calm now.
Mama tucked asleep, feathers ruffling in the breeze.
