Canada Geese - Alberta / Edmonton
Elaine L:
No, the camera is not available now, Bcbird. The Journal either took it down because of the violence of the attacks (especially with little kids watching), or else the Cam crashed because there are so many people viewing it right now.
bcbird:
A few minutes ago, the cam froze and after i refreshed, it said it was not available. Is anyone still seeing the cam?
allikat:
Looks like Mom came back and settled on the eggs and re-adjusted them, fluffed up some down feathers and then I saw the intruder come in and start plucking away at the back of her neck.
Poor thing....I hope nothing happened to the male. Two is much better against one unless there is a pair wanting this site, then both are fighting for it and each other.
Elaine L:
I can't watch anymore. The attacker came back, and started ripping the feathers off her neck and back. This is one mean goose. The eggs are alone, again. I don't think mom can take much more of this.
Elaine L:
Mom just came back to the eggs - the only reason I think it is mom is because I think I recognize her rear end, of all things. She is glaring off and on at some goose in the distance. She was off the eggs so long, that I don't know if they are still viable. If they are anything like falcon eggs, it might have been too long. If dad would come and sit beside her, like he did last week, then we would feel reasonably comfortable that everything is back in order and settled, but not seeing him is worrisome; we don't know if he was injured in defending her, or if he is off having a bite to eat with the boys. I surely would like to think that everything has now been settled here, but without an area view, there is no way to know.
