Just got out of meeting, thank you Peter for the report..I was worried about our girl!!
Saoirse:
Wow -- you guys in Edmonton are having an exciting time with your falcon family. Wish I could be there to volunteer some help, but you're all doing a fantastic job of keeping track of them. Hope this is a great day for the birds to be flying!
lorac:
Wow! Can't wait to get over there this evening.
bccs:
Thanks Mr. Bev, today's the day, I have one of Dennis' feelings.
bev.:
Good Morning. Mr. Bev here. Some interesting times last night. We had a little rain storm along with some stronger winds. The "boys" didn't seem to want to slow down. They tried their flying from place to place and found out that it wasn't as easy as it looked when Mom and Dad did it. They tried several times to go from the Heart building to CSB but had difficulty, like the gymnasts, sticking their landings. They did make it back to the Heart. One took off again and the wind caught him and blew him way south of the University. Mom took off and caught up with him and flew around him and steered him back to the Heart building. Its amazing how they do that. Froona sat for most of the time on the rail of the white stand below the nest box. All of a sudden she disappeared and we could not find her. We still don't know where she went. We searched till dark. Bev and I went down there this morning and with the help of some other watchers found her clinging to the side of CSB at the top to the left of the nest box. She looks just fine. A construction worker went on the roof of the Heart building to check if he could find her. He immediately got dive bombed by the parents. He saw Mr. Red eating a pigeon and he didn't even slow down when he saw the worker. Mr. Yellow was on Windsor Park building enjoying the view. All 3 and both parents are accounted for and doing fine. Froona should do a little flying today to get some food as she didn't get fed yesterday. She has had her maiden voyage now so hopefully, it will be up, up, and away now and we should see some interesting flying. We will keep you posted.
