BirdLover:
I want to add my thanks to Bev., Mr. Bev, and all the others involved in this very important task we have given ourselves. It is a great pleasure for me to be part of this whole watch/forum. I truly think we are making a difference and that we are passing along the word about what we are all doing and why.
I love hearing from all of you with your descriptions and running commentary. I feel like I know the places and faces that you are talking about and that I am right there with you.
Bev. you are an amazing lady and have nothing to apologize when you say sorry for not posting and adding pics. Darn girl, you are busy! Just keep yourself hydrated and when the others tell ya to go rest, do it. But, I really do appreciate all of your hard work.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Ha! I knew she'd be a good flyer...(brags the proud step parent)!! She took her time and waited until she was good and ready! When I saw her out on the roof of the nest box and she'd flap..she was so strong, not wobbly at all so I had a feeling she would be good - no doubt the family genes are strong in this one ;D
Thanks Bev and Mr Bev for your reports and thanks for sending Bev home to get some rest ;)
bev.:
Mr. Bev here. Yes Bob and Carol, but it wasn't 15 minutes, it was just a couple of minutes. In any event, the evening started out with us trying to get rid of Bev and send her home for a much needed break. Froona was on the roof ledge of CSB catwalking. She was fed at 6:00 PM then again shortly after 8:00 PM. The two boys treated us to a great aerial display of playing tag. Things settled down and we settled in to watch and make sure Froona would be OK. The boys and the adults settled in as well. Then just minutes after Bob and Carol left, Froona started to catwalk to the corner of the roof ledge. Suddenly she took off, flew towards the nest box roof ledge then veered off and flew over the Heart building, with what seemed like very little effort. There is no doubt that she is and will be a very strong flyer. My feeble attempt to keep up and run around the Heart building didn't work very well and I was afraid I would loose her and wouldn't be able to find her. As I got to the other side I looked around for her and there she was on another window washer arm looking like she was thinking, "well I got here, now what do I do". I stayed and watched her till darkness fell. She remained where she was. Hopefully Bev will have no difficulty finding her in the morning. Barring any unforseen circumstances, she will have no difficulty flying with her power and strength. "What an amazingly beautiful wonder of nature she has turned out to be. I'm off to bed. Will keep you posted.

You mean to tell me that Carol and I stared at that bird for four hours as she strolled along the ledge of the CSB and stretched her wings in a leisurely manner now and then (no flapping) and that 15 minutes after we left, she flew? Darn! Rats! Drat! and other choice words I can think of in both official languages. j/k.
Happily, we were treated to some fancy aerial displays with the boys playing tag and circling around above. We'll add an opportunity to view Froona's soaring to our list of experiences during our next shift on Thursday. Congrats, girl!
bcbird:
Thanks for that last Froona news, Bev.
It's hard to add anything more to the thanks from those before me.
Your dedication to the peregrines is so evident, but I'm grateful also for your dedication to reporting to us what you are seeing.
