The Peregrine Chick:
If it was a biologist I doubt he worries about getting hit by a bird, peregrine or raven. They don't actually hit all that hard, more of a surprise since they are both large birds - a three foot wingspan rocketing at you at warp speed is kind of unnerving. But you get used to it. And all you really get are scratches which you really don't realize you have until after the event. Since one automatically protects their eyes no real harm done. Some birds come closer than others, some come close enough to actually come into contact, most don't. That applies to all species. Been hit by robins more often than raptors, crows, ravens and other large birds.
And no, I don't wear a helmut anymore - did in my first couple of years but gave it up when I whacked myself more than the birds hit me!

Back to this afternoon...that one posted picture of the human head amazed me. I couldn't tell if he was carrying a broom, but he definitely wasn't wearing a helmut. Wouldn't it be wise to wear one if there was the possibility of angry evicted ravens close by?

No worries, bev. 99.9999...% of us knew what we were looking at. I think TPC did that for new viewers to the site. So we don't have that whole ravens/magpies/starlings/doves/PFs.... /owls? thing again. LOL ;D ;D I was SO happy to see those photos again! thanks. :)

I'm also happy that the removal of the Ravens nest went smoothly!
They are resilient and will find another nesting site if of course they don't try this site again :o
I guess we will all just have to sit and wait to see if/when the falcons come back!
