Well she was only 5 hours late. Not bad.
If you remember last year, the male went into hard incubation right after egg number one was laid and the biologists were worried about that.
I have been reading a lot of Froonas notes and probably the male was more that ready to start incubating last year because Radisson was his second mate and he had already been copulating for over 2 weeks with Miss Balzac. She was not far from eggs. So this probably threw him way out of whack as far as hormones go. Froona"s notes explain this all very well.
I am just waiting for the male to turn up again and then I better get some stuff done.

You all know how I feel about my TG girl, but this picture just does my heart good. She is a beauty. :-* :-*

Three days later is why only one egg hatched last year - that and Radisson's youth. It is better if all the eggs are laid within a 5 day period - one, two, three at no more than 48 hour intervals, fourth usually within 24 hours after third egg as the adults will start incubating after penultimate ("next to last) egg is laid - so four eggs total, incubating starts after three and four is laid shortly there after so that all the eggs are incubated for the same length of time. Three eggs, egg two would be penultimate, etc. Colder weather may make the adults begin incubating at egg two of four but "hard" incubation will begin at three. Egg two may have been a bit long but this pair will probably do better this year than last so think happy thoughts everyone ;)
