Enraptured:
Wow, huge bulging crop on the chick closest to the camera! That grey skin area must be what TPC mentioned one time when describing how Princess uses that part of her to really keep the chicks warm....I might be getting a little confused on that, but I remember something about it and i don't think i've actually ever seen the bare skin part before... thought it was neat!
Liz:
Just witnessed my first tug-of-war. You're right, it is hilarious! ;D I'm glad that they're big enough now that if one is getting the short end of the stick, s/he can find a way to get a fairer share.
falconval:
First time I have seen these three being feed and wooooow what a noise!!!!!!!!!!!!
JL:
Projectile poop with sound effects - can't get any better than that! :D

Actually, unless mum lays down, the top two-thirds of her is always in the light. She usually is closer to the camera and still lit up at night. If you look at the back of the box, it's all lit up above the chicks....so unfortunately, she's kinda stuck! Do adult peregrines ever lay down apart from the hunching down they do when incubating and 'sitting' on young chicks? I often wondered about that, but assumed they didn't, especially when 'guarding' chicks...which leads me to a 'dumb, I should probably know this' question -- if adult peregrines never lay down, don't their legs get tired?!?
