Excellent pic Deedream!! - Really gives us a good image of where the runaway landed. Wonder if he's still there???

When I look at that picture I think it must have been a failed fledge - else how do you fall but end up off tot he side by so much?  In any case, it's helpful to see the outside view and have a sense of where things are.  I just wish Chase hadn't chosen to leave from out of camera view!

Now I hear some squawking in the background. Wow are they ever squawking. Just saw two fly by below the nest box.

Our girl is now awake and looking below to see what's going on. She's parked in the middle of the nestbox, not too close to the ledge at all. She's smart sitting in the shade ..... now she's gone back to laying down at the back of the nestbox.

adult bird just flew off. listen here is a link I just found on another forum,, shows great pics of the outside of box and where the 1st chick fell and where it is sitting.  they have it all circled in red so you really get an idea of what it is like outside that box and around.

One of the parents just landed on the outer bars.  You could see him/her flying up to it. Nice view of that. No one seems to be squawking either. So whatever they are doing doesn't seem to be about the birds.

can't believe how much this girl sleeps! maybe she's thinking she can finally get some peace with those boys gone!

don't see or hear anything right now. can hear a hum from some equipment ....  sis is quiet sleeping, head in corner..

hey I seen that fly by.. Looks of rakkking, and rakking, then big bird flew right over the top of the bars and kept going off into distance.  Can still hear the schricking,,,, closer then farther away.

little girl still having a sleep.  all my her lonesome. I keep hearing a falcon screeching every now and then near by but not real close, and every now and then out of the corner of my eye, movement catches my attention, so maybe someone flys by occassionally.

awww, pitiful little sis, sleeping all alone, no one around, eyes were open, now closed and snoozing..

Now sis has all the food to herself and she was still screeching while carrying the food in her beak lol "Do not come near me this is MINE"
