deedream:
yes I watched chase and lightning until I was falling asleep in the wee hours last night. So cute to see them close and touching. last look was Chase perched on the ledge and Lightning laying with her head on the ledge. :) Every day, I remind myself this could be my last look at them. Empty box this morning as you say. Seems windy there again today. I wish them happy flying and godspeed. They very well may be back to the box several times yet, as I have read on other sites that juvies can and do return for quite some time to there nest site. Not always but does happen. So far Chase and Lightning are returning every nite and Lightning appears throughout the day as well. I wonder about little Bullet? Wished the website would let us know what is going on. Its been over a week since he fell to the silo, I know we thought we seen him one day, but are not certain. :)
Moonstar:
If no chicks came for the food it must mean they fledged. Yesterday when one of the adults appeared with food Lightening came into the nest box so fast and just a squawking. You could hear her squawking before you saw her.
I will keep watching off and on today just incase they do come back.
carly:
Mom just flew in with food but nobody's home...at least I think it's mom and not dad. She's looking around as if to say where did they go? She took a few bites herself and now is back on the perch calling with breakfast in her talons and she just flew off..hopefully to find one of the juvies to feed!
JL:
Both Lightning and her bro are still in the nestbox. Lightning is laying down by the edge of the nestbox and her bro standing next to her.
Pchemist:
Just about midnight-30 nest time, and two juveniles are in the box. one on the ledge, other just behind it (probably lightning). The on on the ledge has its head tucked back out of the light, but lightning appears to be sleeping ion the full light (eyelid closes sometimes). seems nice and quiet, and I will mute as soon as I post this so as to avoid the unexpected wake up call.
