Generally they do, they get a kind of thousand-yard-stare and look "constipated". I know that sounds anthropomorphic, but its that kind of stiffness and distractedness that everyone seems to be able to recognize for some reason. And the females usually stay that way for a few minutes after the egg is laid as well. (no surprising really!! :o)

She has a very puffy rear end, so surely this means something. I hope she is planning to pop out an egg very soon. Maybe I have it all wrong, and she is just relaxing and snoozing.
