Haven't been able to watch for a few days, and now there's only one in the box! I hope we have two successful fledges. If you see the other chicks flying about for sure, please post so that we can breathe easy. Go chicks!
Poor little chick. He's wondering where everyone went. Although, perhaps he can see them if they are on that little platform below and to the left of the nestbox where last year's chick ended up at first fledge attempt. Can't wait to see what happens next.

A HEAT ADVISORY HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR TODAY AND EARLY TONIGHT FOR THE REST OF THE TWIN CITIES METROPOLITAN AREA. Parent dropped off a rodent for the remaining chick. I think a sibling followed the parent and landed on the ledge, looked at the meal being hidden in the corner and took off.
Last year the chicks returned to the nest for the night. Flying must be so much fun but home is where they feel safe.

The remaining chick has certainly tried flapping, but then looks like he might overbalance and pulled back. Went and attacked the back wall instead.

Yes, I think those were the parents, too good of flyers to be the chicks. The last chick still a bit scared to go but he's making some cute funny faces at the camera to amuse us. :P
