Pchemist:
According to the chatter in the shoutbox, all is okay and that ledge is bigger than we think. and apparently this isn't the first foray outside - here is a picture of an intervention on 6/6, apparently. I think they are leaning on the top of the box, so now we can see the size of the ledge. http://i39.tinypic.com/2i7q0km.jpg
according to the service provider, this (going out onto the ledge at this age) is a regular happening at this site. I feel better knowing that.

Two in the box and one on the ledge. I hope everthing turns out well. Maybe the parent will pull the chick back in like Sumo's Mom/Dad did with him.

Yes, a parent came in a few minutes ago and fed only the chick on the ledge. Then the parent took off with the rest of the food, came back again for a moment, and took off again. The ledge is very narrow. I have pics, but have been looking for another contact number. The chick keeps trying and trying to climb back in, flapping his/her wings, but can't make it. If he flaps too much, he might flap right off the ledge.
And now the cam keeps going down off and on.
Pchemist:
I'm not sure but if that is where I think, the chick should be safe where it is. but I'd rather mom or dad came back, too.
fortunately, they seem to post an update each weekday, so someone should be letting us know something tomorrow, I hope.

One of the chicks is out of the nest, on what seems to be a ledge just below the nest box. He/she has been trying to climb back in, but can't make it. This chick is too young to be out there, and I'm concerned that he/she will fall. Does anyone have a way of contacting the appropriate people directly? Of course there is no-one around on a Sunday evening. I did call and leave a message, but have no other way of reaching someone.
