The Peregrine Chick:
A message from the folks at Westar ...
Our three chicks will be banded on Monday morning (5-30). We'll send out pictures and an update after the banding. We'd like your help in naming the falcons. http://westarenergyblog.wordpress.com/2011/05/26/2011-falcon-naming-contest/
Ellie:
So cute and all the pink skin underneath!! ;D
The Peregrine Chick:
Received this note from our friends at Westar Energy in Topeka.
Currently, all three baby falcon eggs have hatched and all falcons appear to be in good condition. The first two arrived Tuesday morning and the third Wednesday morning. Learn more: http://westarenergyblog.wordpress.com/2011/05/11/new-baby-falcons-have-arrive/

The Peregrine Chick:
Update from our folks at Westar ....
If you haven't had a chance to view the falcon cams this year, a lot has happened. Hope and Doorly, the couple that has successfully reproduced offspring the last couple years, has been replaced by a new peregrine couple, Boreas and Nemaha. Downtown Topeka has been very noisy the last couple weeks as the couples figured out who would be laying claim to the nest box. An alternative nest box has been established at our Tecumseh Energy Center in hopes that Hope and Doorly will make their new home there. Nemaha laid her first egg on April 1st, the second on April 4th and the third today, April 6th.
Hopefully Doorly and Hope will choose the the Tecumseh site this year ...
