Thanks again RCF!   I’m not sure who’s on the eggs this evening but thinking it might be dad as he is having trouble keeping the eggs underneath.  He/she is hunched up high like there must be at least 8 under there.  He continuously loses track of at least one of them.

The highway is on the left side of cam view, there is a red car going by.  It's a very small window!  ;D

The box cam looks like this but is not steaming.....maybe after the eggs are laid they will switch.

The link in the above post does not work at the moment. There was also a cam for inside the box, maybe they are testing their system. I guess just wait and see what happens.  ???

2018

As far as I know, Miracle and Walsh are still the resident pair. This year, they raised one chick.

Actually, Walsh & Susan raised 3 male chicks in 2018 - Wingo Starr, Clyde & Bud.
Not sure why it was reported that there was only one ... but we have it corrected now  ;D

Susan was hatched in Winona, Minnesota in 2015

2018 NESTING SEASON

2017 chicks
Stella was banded black/red C/83
Fiona was banded black/red C/84

Fiona, C/84, was photographed on 11/4/17 about eight miles east of Cameron, Louisiana. She was photographed again on 1/20/18 about twenty miles northeast of Cameron, Louisiana. On 1/20/18 she was no longer wearing her USFWS silver band.

2018

As far as I know, Miracle and Walsh are still the resident pair. This year, they raised one chick.

From the Midwest Peregrine Society:

On a photography page for Minnesota birders, member Matt Sorum posted a great image of a HY bird. From the photos, we were able to identify the bird as b/r K/98. He was a male peregrine banded at the Moorhead Malt Plant on 6/26/, about 24 days old at banding and the Moorhead folks named him Wingo Starr.

There are some beautiful photos of Wingo Starr with this update. The photos are copyright, but this is the (long) link:

There is good news today about one of this year's juvies from the Moorhead nest.

Peregrine Falcon born in Moorhead, spotted in Louisiana

(WDAY)—A happy update to a story about our two baby peregrine falcons that were born this summer at the Anheuser Busch Plant in Moorhead.

Fiona the falcon now more fully grown into her feathers, was spotted by a bird watcher in Louisiana!

Above is video from June of Stella and Fiona when they were tagged and given a clean bill of health.

Peregrine falcons rare in the region, there are only two known nests in North Dakota.

The Urban Raptor Project says Fiona has a high chance of survival now that she's migrated south for the winter.

No word yet on where Stella has flown off to.

Short video is at the link below:

One of the birds is banded black/red C/83, but I'm not sure which one. I have not yet found the other band number.

2017 NESTING SEASON

This story is a bit confusing in that I believe these are wild-hatched chicks and the story makes it sound like they are captive-bred and being hacked from this site.  When I have more details confirmed, will post them here.

Rare falcons make themselves at home at Moorhead beer plant
By Sarah Rudlang / 9 Jun 2017 / WDAY

MOORHEAD—2 rare, baby peregrine falcons are now calling the Anheuser Busch Plant in Moorhead home.  After building the nest four years ago, the plant welcomed two baby girl falcons; naming them Stella and Fiona.  On Friday, the birds were tagged and received a clean bill of health.  The bird is extremely rare in the region, North Dakota only has two known nests in the entire state.

Busch says they built the nest four years ago and are excited to finally have a falcon family. "I did not know myself how rare peregrine falcons are to the region, so to have two live chicks today named Stella and Fiona, it's a pretty neat thing to contribute to the community." Alan Slater of Busch Agricultural Resources tells us.

The Busch plant says the birds will also help to keep other birds away from their tower.
