Alison:
Linda made the cover

Linda, the resident female at the Belmont Addison nest, is on the cover of the current issue of BBC Wildlife Magazine. She is a beauty:

I would like to read the accompanying article.

Alison:
The first to fledge at this nest was Refrigerator, the youngest chick. He was not seen for over 24 hours, then was sighted on a nearby building. Two days after fledging, he returned to the nest site to visit his siblings.

All four chicks fledged successfully, and all of them have been seen since fledging, usually on the roof of one of the buildings. All four have been seen together, a very good sign.

The parents have been named Linda and Steve.

Alison:
The four chicks were banded on June 8.

Information from the Chicago Peregrine Program.

The female calmly sat on the balcony railing watching us band her 4 chicks. (3 girls and a boy).

The chicks' names are: Luke, Katy, Joe and Refrigerator. Theme: famous Perrys.

Great photo of the banding by Mary Hennen, who does so much for peregrines.

As of June 10, one of the chicks had already ventured out onto the balcony.

I too hope that the webcam will start working again.

GCG:
I, for one hope the live feed is repaired. I would like to view this nest/planter.

Kinderchick:
Wow! That certainly is a most unusual nest site. Amazing that all 4 chicks hatched & continue to thrive in that planter box.  8)
