West Winnipeg - 2015 / Ty & Beatrix
dupre501:
Went for a drive this evening and spotted all members of this family. Beatrix was on the east sign. Try was on the south sign with one of the girls above him on the wall. The other girl was about half way along on the west wall. Ty flew away for just a moment and returned to the south wall but landed one floor below the sign. What an odd place to land. Didn't stay long. Then he flew off followed by Beatrix, leaving the kids on their own just chillin' on the walls.
The Peregrine Chick:
Both chicks were at the nestbox this morning, then they went wall-walking and lost track of one (remember we can't see 1/2 of the roof with our cameras) and the other has found herself a nice shady spot across the roof from the nestbox - it has been a very popular spot on the roof with previous years' chicks.

thank you for checking
dupre501:
Went to check this site as the first few drops of rain fell. As we approached we saw a bird fligh to the nest corner. It was just the faintest glimpse of a bird. By the time we got around the building there was a chick crouched on the corner. Was this the bird that just flew in? I don't know. Then it started raining harder and the chick retreated off the wall. Once the rain tapered off, there were two soggy birds that we could see looking over the wall at the world.
The Peregrine Chick:
Crazy weekend for me folks but will try to Get a good long look at the cam and the recordings and provide everyone wigs full update. The roof here unlike at McKenzie Seeds has a lot of places we can't see with our cameras so at this time of the year I have so watch where/when they "disappear" and reappear to know what they are up to. The oldest chick here hatched on May 30th so she is 41 days old her younger sister is 39 days old. It used to be that 45 days was a good estimate for female chicks to fledge but our kids are smaller so could go earlier but there are just the two of them and they are both girls so could wait longer than a mixed gender nest. Hopefully I will have more news soon!!
