Radisson - 2015 / Smiley & Princess
The Peregrine Chick:
Third Radisson Bird - haven't seen 2nd bird since "third" arrived
note the pattern on the back of the bird's head and how high the speckles come up on the breast
The Peregrine Chick:
1240h CDT
Looks like the female is resting up after her migration, she is still on the east side sign napping .... She hasn't moved all morning ...
The Peregrine Chick:
1115h CDT
Still male watching the west side of the Hotel, female watching on the east side. Makes me think they are making sure no one has a chance to slip in.
The Peregrine Chick:
1035h CDT
Two birds that I can see at the Radisson - male on the Hydro Building (dot of the I) and female on the N in Radisson on the east side sign.
Male has a black/green band, still haven't clearly confirmed band number but pretty sure the two digits that have been hardest to read mean it is Smiley.
Female too has a black/green band, is fully grey (no brown which is common in younger birds) and has speckles high up on her breast. None of these things are unusual in the Midwest, but not so common up here. I'm thinking it is Princess but I need to look at her band.
Or they have to sit still long enough for Dennis and one of the Wowzer cousins to get the number for us! But it is early days yet, not even the end of the month so we are weeks ahead of ourselves!
ballywing:
Wouldn't it be nice to have Princess & Smiley back - though I wouldn't mind seeing Ivy - but probably better not to at this point - there'd probably be a fight! :-\ If it is Princess, hope she's ok after her possible tussle over the penthouse suite. Princess & Smiley did well last year - but hopefully this time their chicks won't disappear so quickly after fledging! That was a little (a lot) disappointing to lose sight of them so soon :)
