Radisson - 2015 / Smiley & Princess
The Peregrine Chick:
1249h CDT
Hard to be sure with the winds downtown but I think the female is eating on the south lower edge of the Hydro roof.
The Peregrine Chick:
1200h CDT
Female is on the slash under the R on the east side sign. Male (?) is on the nestledge right up against the wall where there is no snow. Not sure why he is there, he's not scraping ... he might be on a meal but I'm not sure.
The Peregrine Chick:
1415h CDT
Male bird is on the east side sign napping, another bird, female I assume, is on the north side Artis sign. I think "she" is the drier of the two, or maybe that is just how it looks from a distance.
Light is too low and dark today to get band numbers - even if they were cooperative, just not enough contrast to be able to see the details. Maybe tomorrow, or Thursday or Friday or ... we'll keep working at it.
The Peregrine Chick:
Himself arrived at the nestbox about 0430h this morning and stayed for 2 hours then took off. Haven't seen her on either side this morning and nothing on the recorder. If it is Princess, this is not unusual for her, she often doesn't hang out at the nestbox until much closer to nesting. I've also not seen either of the birds much on the nestledge, hopefully this is an indication that the nestbox is preferred this year.

I'm thinking Smiley - his band colour is right and there is a W on it, but of course am not sure until I see his band ;)
The female I'd like to be Princess but wishing may not make it so. The head, breast and band colour look good though.
Keep your fingers crossed that we manage to get a clean image soon.
