jadoo:
...this was posted on the utah govt site:
WANTED: We need volunteers to help monitor and rescue young-of-the-year peregrine falcons during their flight training period.
When & Where: The flight training period could begin as early as July 4. If you'd like to help, please join us for Salt Lake City peregrine falcon field trip and volunteer orientation meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28. We will meet just east of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, which is south of the tall Church Office Building
...and, i was just looking in at the chicks on Camera 2, they are all sitting in the sheltered portion of the box, out of the hot sun; I can't really distinguish any real size differences between them, although one does appear a little bit smaller than the others, but it also seems to have more down left than the others - the last hatch, perhaps?
Ellie:
I am not very good at "sleuthing" so therefore I did not find out anything about banding at Salt Lake City. Sounds like their chicks should fledge about a week after ours here at the Radisson.
Ellie:
Would these chicks have been banded by now? Looks like one female for sure and possibly two!! ??? Will check BCAW and see if there is any info there. ::)

...parents providing lots of food to these four; saw two feedings this morning, one after the other, and one parent brought in a third food package even as the chicks were being fed the second one; after a minute of discussion, said parent took food package away - stashed for later, perhaps? These chicks are getting big, darker feathers beginning to peek through - I love this stage, with the still almost all white, but the dark patches showing over the eyes. They look like incredibly awkward bandits... :D
jadoo:
...i think they scare themselves sometimes - feeding is over, mom has left, and the chicks look stunned, and exhausted... :D
