...well it's nice that we got some info on the fledgling, and a relief that he seems to be ok!  It does look like a nice open launch pad for the falcon chicks from their nest here - perhaps a touch less dangerous than the Radisson site, with portage ave right there...

I was down there again. Spent a hour or 2 watching the fledgling on top of the Joesph Smith building. Didn't see the parents come see him but that doesn't mean they didn't. He looked like he was staying put for the night. I took some pictures of him and will post them later. We could hear them calling not sure witch one. There really not far aprart he's just on the other side of that wing of the building. I'm sure he will be giving it another shot in the morning. I wont be able to get down there until at least tomorrow night again.

Alison:
I hope the little one who fledged is doing okay. Late last night I could only see one in the nest box, but the other one may just have been out of cam view.

UPDATE

From jethat at Hancock
I just got back. I talked to some people on the ground and they told me he crash landed on or near the old church office building that's the building you can see in the web cam. He was uninjured and they caught him and took him up to the top of the Joseph Smith building and when I was there he hadn't made another attempt. He is fine though and will soon try it again but they said it might be a day or even 2 before he does it again. There are 5-6 people with radios on the ground watching them waiting to save them if necessary.I took some pictures although not many and I will post them in a few minutes my camera battery died so I didn't get many but I think I got a couple nice pictures of the nest box and the building. I might run up there again tonight.

--- Quote from: jadoo on June 29, 2009, 12:49 ---...EXCELLENT find, kittenface;  I haven't seen the fluffy one for about an hour now - hopefully it's just sleeping under the camera - the other one looked like it might be ready to fledge, but the fluffy one - no way!  Any thoughts on whether they'd come back to this nest box after fledging, now that we know what it looks like from the outside?

I really don't have any clue on that with this nest its only first year I've watched it but there is an article I just read.  Bob Walters is the Falcons best friend in Utah ;D    here is the link: http://www.deseretnews.com/article/1,5143,705312767,00.html?pg=1
