We were all assuming the one that left first was a boy because it was so much smaller which happened to be right but the second one was so big and lost its white feathers so much later we assumed it was a female. BOY WERE WE WRONG even Bob thought it was a girl so its 2 Boys - Early and Lexie
The Peregrine Chick:
Okay, maybe I'm just not reading this right ... they thought the small chick was a female and the large chick was a male? ???
And now they have found that the large chick is a female and the small chick is a male ???

Boy I was just so sure that was a girl with the size difference and WE can always add the "a" and take away the "e" here I like that better. Yes I'm gonna miss it to but then we have next year to look for.

HIS NAME IS LEXIE
We left both young peregrines on the north face of the JSMB in the rain tonight. "Early" took a couple good flights today, with no crashes. "Lexie" on the other hand had a slight mishap and ended up in the flowers. We were able to get her in hand, band her and release her on the north roof top of the JSMB. Guess What? I was wrong! *LEXIE IS A BOY! *We're not changing the name, but I'll refer to her as a him from now on.
