She does talk to them and them back to her (or Dad) and the adults spin round with the eggs a lot. To us it looks like they can't get the eggs in the right place or that they can't get comfortable on/over the eggs.

Some call it shuggling the eggs. :)

--- Quote from: The Peregrine Chick on June 02, 2014, 10:01 ---This is day 32 of incubation for Princess & Smiley. Last year, Princess' first chick hatched out on day 35 and then because of the bad weather she didn't do any encouraging of her remaining 2 chicks until the rain stopped and they hatched pretty much immediately after that on day 37. Usually Princess' eggs hatch out between 32 and 35 days so we may have chicks here shortly or it may take a bit longer.

How does Princess go about encouraging her chicks to hatch, TPC? By chirping at the eggs? ???

At the moment Smiley is on the eggs (took over about 1020h) and he's been pretty settled, but he's new so who knows what is going on under him right now ...
Moonstar:
Just saw a shift change. 4 eggs no chicks yet.

Thanks, TPC. :-* I guess if I keep in mind that Smiley's head is all black & Princess has some light coloured feathers on her head, that should help me. Just have to be able to see their heads, though. If they are not facing the webcam & I can only see their tail feathers, it is difficult for me to tell them apart.
