Sadly due to the increasingly low numbers of annual visitors over the last couple of years and the pressing need for a significant investment in replacing the welcome cabin the HPWW has now closed and will not open as a regular visitor attraction in the foreseeable future.

We will continue to use the existing infrastructure for educational visits, public open days and organised events. Details of what will be happening can be found in our event leaflet, through local press and AB54 newsletter.

As the Peregrines are a highly protected species we have continued to monitor them. We also hope to have live streaming of the wildlife at the quarry on these web pages in the very near future, which will at least allow those interested to keep in touch with the success of the birds. We have had some technical difficulties but are hopeful these will be resolved shortly.

For wildlife viewing opportunities in our forests, we have a number of other sites throughout Scotland. Within the North east we have a small hide at Bennachie and Roseisle … both well worth a look. Or why not explore our wild places and see wildlife in their natural habitats. For example, you can see Ospreys at The Lodge in Aberfoyle and Tweed Valley Forest Park, Sea Eagles at our hide on Mull, Beavers in Knapdale Forest, West Argyll and many more informal wildlife viewing opportunities throughout the country.

A big thank you to all our visitors and volunteers that have visited and supported Huntly Peregrine Wildwatch over the years. We have all enjoyed meeting and working alongside everyone and hope to meet up with you again at our many events held either at the Wildwatch (now called the Bin Quarry) or at one of our other sites.
