West Winnipeg - 2014 / Beau & Beatrix

The Peregrine Chick:
Beatrix is in the box with the kids but isn't velcroed on them like she was on the weekend - shows what a few more days can do.  The chicks are tucked up against her breast, much the same as with Princess but Beatrix doesn't have them in the corner - think she has figured out where the driest spot is.  Beau is sitting just beside the nestbox, very much a family image, well, an out-of-focus family image because of the rain!  The chicks look fine if perhaps a bit damp.

And it looks like she might have inherited some of her grandfather's (Trey's) neat genes.  Her box has just one small black head sitting in the corner from when it was raining so hard.  No feathers or legs or anything.

That a girl!!!  Love a peregrine that is OCD!  A raptor after my own heart...   ::)

She spent all of yesterday doing that - almost like she wasn't going to take a chance that the rain was going to sneak in while she wasn't watching.  Chicks lay in piles all day - very cute.  And it looks like she might have inherited some of her grandfather's (Trey's) neat genes.  Her box has just one small black head sitting in the corner from when it was raining so hard.  No feathers or legs or anything.  Not like the Radisson - man o man, Smiley has got to learn to just bring the edible bits so the inedible bits don't collect.  Never seen the Radisson box this messy this early.

Thanks for the photo.  :D
