Its a natural reflex, but not one to wind or particulates, but rather to boredom or sleep deprivation, depending on the timing. It's like cats, they sleep lightly, often opening their eye or eyes to check what is going on.

Well all these strong winds have blown Brooklyn and Hurricane's cached food to the street. I saw an intact red-winged blackbird and a least sandpiper on the road by the McKenzie building today.

Yeah we are live. Currently checking both. Looks like we had a shift change at the Radisson site (Ivy), and watching Hurricane for the McKenzie site. I noticed Hurricane's left eye keeps closing and opening back and forth while the right is open. I don't think there is anything to worry about both falcons do the same thing.
