Feeding happening right now, but mom's in the way......dad just showed up for a few seconds, and then left!

Princess just stepped a little to the side....still just 2 chicks and an egg.

It is so unprotected from the elements. In nature there are at least tall grasses, shrubs, trees etc. around for protection. Just wondering!!!!

Hmmm, well we must remember that wild Peregrines nest mostly on rocky cliffs, so they don't rely on grass/shrubs/trees in the wild for nest protection. The birds are used to strong winds.

They don't know all these humans watching them cringe whenever a big gust blows them over!

I know this nest site is not a good one considering the tragedy previous.........could a grate be put in place on the top of it to prevent the PF's from using it? One of the chicks seems to be having a bad hair day - probably got poop or regurgitation on his/her head ...  ::)

Princess has been sticking like glue to the chicks and their second meal today (0755h) was much shorter than meal one (0555h), might be that she knows there is a chance of rain today and isn't taking any chances

Tuesday forecast for Winnipeg

Day - Overcast. High of 19C. Breezy. Winds from the ESE at 10 to 20 km/h.
Night - Overcast with a chance of rain. Low of 7C. Winds less than 5 km/h. Chance of rain 50%.

6:05AM  There is a great shuggling going on, as the phanatachickies get their feather blanket spread over them!   :D

Chicks just had a feeding. Did anyone see the remaining egg? ???
No Kinderchick.  Princess was blocking the view.  But, good to see the two chicks are looking good and strong.

Egg is still an egg and I couldn't see the depression or hole or whatever ...

Check the egg folks, can't tell if its a chick about to make its appearance or that the egg is non-viable and has been damaged ... would be cool if it were the former ...

I actually was wondering about that egg earlier in the day myself, TPC & moka. I kept staring hard at it, thinking that I could see a pip and a bit of cracking. Then I thought maybe it was just the light or a shadow or something stuck to it. Hard to say. :-\

I agree. Didn't know if something was stuck on it or what ???

But those fluffies sure can eat. Incredible how something so small can open its mouth so wide.
