Severe thunderstorm watch for City of Winnipeg continued

This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds.
Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements. If threatening weather approaches take immediate safety precautions.

An unstable airmass over Southern Manitoba is resulting in scattered thunderstorm development this evening. Large hail and torrential downpours are the primary threats from any storms, although there have been reports of funnel clouds and an isolated tornado is not out of the question.

The severe weather threat has now diminished in Western Manitoba, and will end later this evening in the Red River Valley and eastward.

Kinderchick:
Whew! Glad the storm passed by quickly & there was no time for accumulation of water puddle on the nest ledge. :P

The Peregrine Chick:
I was west of the Radisson and no rain at all, great light show but no rain ...

Feather2Fin:
My heart sank when I saw the size of the hail hitting our ledge. Princess is such a good Mom even though one of the chicks wanted his/her head out from under her. She scrunched him down to protect all, during the storm and after.

After the storm
