Interesting. I was away from the cam for a bit and now can't see the chicks, so maybe they are in fact in mum's shade :)

She's there in case the chicks want to shelter under her ... at the moment they have found their own shade but she is making sure they will have other shade if they want it ... its instinct in the heat when the chicks are this age and a good idea on this nestledge. She may do this for another week or two ...

pre-dawn - must have had a meal or two because when Ivy came to check on them they didn't leap to their feed like they did with their next meal ...
0810h - meal off screen
Cam will be on the long-view most the time now folks I'm afraid so that we can keep the "kids" in view ....

Currently - sunny, 19C, winds W/SW 10-15km/h with breezy gusts higher
Day - Partly cloudy with a chance of rain in the afternoon. High of 22C. Winds from the West at 10 to 15 km/h. Chance of rain 50%.
Night - Partly cloudy with a chance of a thunderstorm and rain, then a chance of rain after midnight. Low of 10C. Winds from the North at 10 to 15 km/h. Chance of rain 70%.
