Yes, they take blood from every chick.  ;)

Yes, the folks in Nebraska take the blood samples for genetic testing - part of a long term study.

They were taking blood. They do this at most the bandings in the US for genetic reasons I think.   :-\    The parents disposed of the deceased chick,  so who knows what happened to it.  ???
