A nesting tray and webcam were installed at site near Parliament in February 2010 with assistance from the Royals Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) and British Telecom (BT). This pair laid eggs again in 2012, but the webcam was not available that year.  In 2013 it looks like they fledged 3 chicks, one female and two males.  So far as I can tell, none of the birds are technically named.  The Victoria Tower was purpose-built as a "fireproof repository for books and documents.  The first stone of the Tower was laid by Queen Victoria on 22 December 1843, and construction was completed in 1860.

There currently are no cameras at either of the Shrewsbury nests, but there are plans for the one of St Alkmund's Church.

* some northern European peregrines (Scandinavian) birds are known to nest in trees when other sites are not available.  Why this pair chose a tree is not known but one or the other (more likely the female) could have northern European genetics.  There was only one tree-nesting subspecies of peregrines in North America, they lived in the virgin hardwood forest swamps of the US south east.  Same habitat as the ivory-billed woodpecker.  The ivory-billed woodpecker may or may not be extinct but this subspecies of peregrines is - they died out due to loss of habitat in the early 1900s.

the nestsite location is not identified for safety reasons but the cam broadcasts onto a very large screen in the city centre

The Manchester Peregrine "Date with Nature" project is a partnership between the RSPB, the BBC and Manchester City Council.  For this reason, between the years of 2004-2006, nest boxes were installed by BTO in four locations around the city centre including the City Tower, CIS Tower, and the Town Hall Building.  In 2010 the pair moved to the CIS Tower, the second tallest building in Manchester. In 2011 they moved back to their previous nestsite.

The cathedral is nearly 500 years old and there are records of peregrines nesting here over the centuries.
The nestbox (2006) and webcams (2007) are newer additions.
The Derby Cathedral Peregrine Project is a partnership between Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, Derby Cathedral, Derby Cathedral Quarter & Derby City Council.
