Stopped and watched for about an hour with Peter. Got to see R in a fly bye, after she finished riding the termal drafts with C. Then went over to the Misercordia to look at the pair there, female up on the tallest pole and the male on the s/e corner of the building..started to make noise at us, so left them be alone.

Radisson seems to have double duty what with feeding her young, as well as teaching her mate how to be a good Dad!

This is a quote from Peter on BCAW this morning:

"The evening last night was relatively quiet. The chick made a lot of noise as it wanted to be fed. Chase has a habit of stealing his food. However, he landed on the wrung of the nest box looking inside. Radison did not look to happy and landed on the netting and crouched menacingly looking at chase. He didn't budge, so Radison flew off, diving down and then looping up over the CS and came down and knocked him off his perch. I think he got the message. She however did not bring in any food till approx. 9:30 when she brought some prey on to the netting and beak fed the youngster. He had a good feed and seemed quite content, perching on the wrung of the nest box where he stayed until I left at 10:00 PM. Chase was on the lower roof of Maz and Radison was on CS.

The youngster did a lot of flapping on the netting during the evening and looks strong and ready to fly. I don't believe it will be long.

Bev just called and advised that the watchers this morning saw that the youngster was fed just after 6. Bev said that Radison also brought food in at 9:30 and has managed to keep Chase at bay so the youngster can eat. He seems to be well fed anyway."

Holy cats, he does have a real mohawk, unlike the tufts we usually get here.
Trust Radisson's kid to be a rebel!!  (hey, nice name  ;))

This is very good.

Thanks, RCF for catching the mohawk.

I was hoping to notice that phase on our Radisson bunch, but didn't this year.
