Sure does look windy in the Brandon nestbox this evening.

Now the wind is from the southeast at 22km's it was much worse this afternoon. The camera was shaking like we were having a major Earthquake but both Brooklyn and Hurricane spent their time sleeping while they took turns on the eggs. :)

Yes, I did hear that too, Jo. But I really think it is because the webcam view appears to be a better view, perhaps because it is a closer view and also perhaps because the lighting is better. :-\ I think they are both absolutely beauuuuutiful! ;D

This morning when Terry & Marcy (CBC Radio One morning program) were talking about the Falcon cams, Terry mentioned what a good looking bird Hurricane is. From his comments, it sounded like she must have been playing up to the camera when he tuned in. Or at least I'm assuming it was Hurricane - I think he referred to her as the 'Brandon bird'.

???  Anyone know where Rain and Rosser are??

We do not I'm afraid.  Both of their transmitters stopped functionning suddenly which is usually a sign of transmitter failure.  One stopped last fall on the way down near Arkansas, one stopped abruptly in earlier this spring in Texas.  I have posted a note among the peregrine project folks south of the border to keep their eyes open for male, black-banded birds with transmitters on them and hopefully we will hear something - but heck it could be that our next contact will be when one of the boys turns up defending a nestsite somewhere - that's how we usually "find" our kids again.   However, the mortality rate is 5 out of every 10 chicks in the first year, so of our 10 chicks last year, we lost 3 in the nest and 2 at fledging so our boys are not out of the woods necessary ....
