Hm - watched it a few times and it looked intentional to me - I guess we'll never know, but it sure is a weird looking egg. Glad the 3 are doing so well in their super new condo!!  8) - great video RCF!!!  :-*

Nice video, RCF. :) But I can't really tell - did Hurricane just move the unhatched egg over to the corner of the nestbox, out of the camera's view or did she drop it over the side, out of the nestbox? :-\

I am pretty sure the egg is still in the box, she never picked it up.  When she stepped on it unintentionally, it rolled from under her foot to the side of the box where you can't see it.

I thought she deliberately kicked it out of the way, did you see the force she used as evident by how far away the egg went?  Eggcellant soccer player!!

Ha Ha You crack me up!!   I am sure it was not intentional.   :D

If anyone was wondering where the last egg is, you will see in the video where it goes and how it got there.

Hurricane and Brooklyn were both preening and stretching on the communications tower this evening (peregrine yoga). When I left Brooklyn had gone into the nest box and Hurricane continued to preen.

These chicks seem to spend alot of time uncovered considering it's only 13 degrees out right now... ??? - or maybe I'm just being a worry wart!  :P Hurricane is back on them now, but she seemed to take her time about it!  :-\

Report from down town. One parent on the green pole of the tower and other parent is on the east light and the chicks are by themselves and complaining loudly in spite of being fed twice in the last hour. Note the Poop Art on the southwall of the nest box, some of it getting pretty far up the wall :).

Now we know the egg has truly been rejected, will someone from the project pick it up and anylyze it to see what went wrong?
This can't be done while the chicks are in the nest box, newchick. Perhaps the egg will be removed by TPC or Dan at the time of the banding in a few weeks, if the parents haven't removed it prior to that. TPC will be better able to speak to this, however.

Perhaps with the way bagpipes sound there are sometimes notes or screech-like sounds that are a bit like their warning sounds?  And for the record, I love the sound of bagpipes - no slur intended.

I agree, des. I find the bagpipes soul stirring. I also love the screechs of our chicks pleasant.  :)
