RCF you rock. Too bad you weren't there to take pictures of the modifications. :'(

It was raining and I was in Brandon the day before, good day to stay home and read a book. The birdies would have been trying to stay dry anyway.......not a good day for the camera  ;)

Yesterday was a horrible day to try to take photos (poor Dennis  :'() and it would have been even worse hanging out in the rain waiting to take photos for the 8-9 hours we were working in town.  Actual work on the roof took 1/2 hour, only 20 minutes of which were visible from the ground.

Much better to photograph today in the mostly sunny and getting warmer weather  :D
Your right! Yesterday was a day that was only good for Rhubarb and Ducks, a day to stay in and read a book. When it wasn't raining it was foggy not nice at all. Now today is just the exact opposite sunny and warm and no wind. :)

As Rose posted, Hurricane and Brooklyn have had some renos made to their nestobx.  New, longer, sturdier, perching pole (ie rake handle courtesy of Dennis) a kid-proof railing as well as 2 cameras and a microphone (courtesy of Eye-Spy).

We have the same window-cam as last year which is operating wonderfully as we speak.  New in-box camera with an even better angle so we can see the box edges and the pole so parental arrivals and departures are visible.  The microphone works great but we haven't tried it with the CBC set-up yet to know whether two microphones will work (one at Radisson, one here) but CBC is confident there won't be problems, so we are going to be optimistic as well.

Brooklyn was non-plussed by our visit, he pretty much just parked his butt on the communications tower and watched us the whole time.  Hurricane wanted a closer look and tried to give us instructions, but even her interest was dampened by the rain and fog.  And yes, it did rain all day and evening yesterday, fortunately we were inside for most of it and the rain deities took pity on us when we actually had to be on the roof and it was more mist/drizzle than the downpours that occurred frequently.

And no, there are no eggs here yet - if there were, I would have started with that little piece of news.  But we suspect we should have them this week - these two are frequently last of the three resident pairs to arrive but generally second pair to lay so it shouldn't take long based on experience.

So we got wet but Hurricane and Brooklyn got some upgrades on their condo and everyone gets to enjoy two great camera views.  All in all, a great day.

This really isn't the right place to post this but why are so many forum people unable to access the Forum and I am still able to? Also the last post was Pam's about 4:30pm yesterday?

I have had no difficulty in accessing or posting either.

Did any one get wet yesterday or did you all have rain coats? I hope no one slipped on the ladder!! Brooklyn and Hurricane thank you for the new perch bar and fittings (cameras etc) Are there any eggs in the nest box? Hurricane has been spending quite a bit of time there the last few days. :) Brooklyn keeps bringing her presents maybe he wants to speed things up.

I forgot to mention yesterday that the Ravens nest on the west side of the McK bldg looks like it's been abandoned.  It looks like somebody opened the fire escape door and pushed the nest forward about six inches.  I did notice a few branches directly below it in the back lane and I didn't see any Ravens around.

I also noticed there was a Killdeer head and the breast and wings of a Northern Flicker in the back lane..............like you needed to know that!  ;D

Shouldn't be very long now before we'll be hearing about these 2 incubating eggs! :D
