So do Mom & Dad visit the little guy and keep track of where everybody is?  I can't remember from previous years........

Yes, so long as they know where he is (and they usually do even if we don't) then they will make sure he's fed.

Just a note - Hurricane in 2007 was our first to fly and she never came back to the nestledge and we only saw her for the first little while then she was out of sight though she would have still been in the dowtown area for another few weeks.  Now she's the resident female in Brandon with kids of her own.

So remember, the motto is: no news is good news until it isn't.  ;D

Liz, I am very sure that I speak for those of us who cannot be there, THANK YOU. THANK YOU to all fledgewatchers who are our eyes for being there to make sure our Royals are in a safe place and keeping us informed. All of you are incredible.  :-* :-*

Did speak with the window washers on the Rogers building and they are using bosun's chairs so it annoys the birds a bit (the same is used on the Radisson, but not necessarily considered a threat.  One of the adults had a bomb the Rogers building about two hours later to ensure that the guys understood that those were his babies over on the Hotel.  Ivy's was last seen parked on the antennae at the Radisson.

Did manage to get some great views of nearby rooftops this morning (thank you George!) and still couldn't see him so no news is good news for the moment.

Easiest way to tell the female from the males is that she has a longer tail.  Sounds self evident but she keeps getting it caught on the louvres or up the box side when she sleeps close to the wall in the box - yesterday evening was a perfect example of that.

Its getting warm out there which usually means the chicks will settle in to wait out the warm part of the day, so keep your fingers crossed that they will hang on a bit longer - weekends are always less busy in the mornings so always a better time for fledging ...

This is great news of the first (and very successful) fledge.  Good luck, Liz and any others watching from the ground!  Too bad about the timing of workers on such an "important" roof right now.   :-\
