Radisson - 2012 / Ivy & Princess

bcbird:
TPC, do you think then, that Ivy has had more "say" in nest location than Princess?

The Peregrine Chick:
The peregrines didn't mind the Hydro construction but they nested on the nestledge when the MTS centre was being built, so not sure what will happen.  Ivy doesn't like the ledge much, not like Trey who hatched there, so perhaps he will just watch the construction and not be too twitched about it all.  Here's hoping at least.

Will also depend on what they are doing when in relation to the peregrine nesting cycle.  Once they are down on eggs, it usually takes alot to get them to move/abandon them!

susha:
Oh boy.  I hope the birds can deal with the noise.  Hopefully, the nest box is high enough up that the construction sounds won't bother them... :P  They seem to tolerate the traffic noises, sirens, etc...

Move it to the best place...I didn't want to look any farther.

If you don't receive the Winnipeg Free Press, thought I would pass along this link.
This is what is about to/taking place this winter/spring.
If you aren't familiar with Winnipeg, this development would start 1/2 block west and across Portage from the current West Side Nestbox...that is just a bit close...hope they (the birds) like cranes, jackhammers and what ever else is involved in this demolition and construction.

The Peregrine Chick:
Its also hard to know/tell if this is what they have always done in the peregrine off-season ... will be interesting to see what happens for sure.
