Getting back to the discussion of animals and their emotions and mental capacity.
I know that animals do have emotions, many resemble ours but are not identical.
You can drive an animal crazy. Many caged animals who are not kept in large enough cages exhibit this behaviour.
When one of my dogs hurt her leg by putting it through a doorway before it was opened wide enought. Her leg was squeezed but not seriously injured, yet, for the rest of her life, she hesitated and was wary of doors opening and closing.
Our falcons do develop mentally as well as emotionally but only the falcon gods know the details. :P

Right now all I get on the cam is a face full of feathers! LOL.

All I see is a wing probably attached to a bird on a ledge because of the height.

Jo:
They are looking so grown up!

Had a little walk around downtown (I had chores to do. Honest!). Saw one parent making lazy circles in the air above Tavern United (and that big smoke stack where one of the chicks (was it last year?) "dropped by" unexpectedly). Saw one brown chest up on the nest ledge having a nice gander. I tried to figure out who it was by checking the cam when I got back to my office but all four safely in the box. For now. :)
