This is a kestrel but it gives you some idea of what a brood patch looks like when all the feathers are blown/moved out of the way.

Don't know if this question belongs in this topic but here goes.

Since Ivy and Princess both sit on the eggs, do they both have a brood patch? We've spoken of this before but I can't find the answer, if there was one. Also, do any of the photos show this?

Yes they do, but mostly you can't see it as they have lots of feathers on their lower breast/belly and you can't see it.  Sometimes it looks like Princess has a "part" (as in a part in one's hair) on the feathers t but that's about as much as one usually sees.  I'll see if I can find a photo of what I mean ...
