McKenzie Seeds - 2011 / Brooklyn & Hurricane
RCF:
5:05am both boys are on the wall just like ESP Chickita said they were, wing by wing.
ESP Chickita:
Wish I had read the posts on how to take a screenshot! The boys are sitting wing by wing on the wall, looks like they are contemplating life - with the dim light just shining around them, it is a priceless pic!

--- Quote from: Leana on July 11, 2011, 18:52 --- I've been wondering... is Rosser significantly bigger than Rain or is it just an illusion? I guess Tracy would know best... watching them on the cam it sure looks like Rosser is bigger.

I think Rosser is a little bit bigger, also they don't look exactly alike. They do have their differences, even their little faces are different from each other. Rosser is a little older and more active than Rain and I think even Tracy has trouble telling them apart without seeing the colored tape on Rosser's band.

You would be right RCF, I'm always second guessing if I can't see them close enough to gauge their relative sizes, particularly now that much of their fluff is gone! Folks should check out RCF's photos and videos for the clues to the individual differences between the chicks! I usually look for more/less, lighter/darker streaking on the breast (Fyfe's breast streaking was finer than Carson's or Cade's) since that is frequently easy to see and look for the patterns of light/dark on their heads - like the differences between Hurricane and Brooklyn, once you know what you are looking for and with some practice, you can get very adept at telling them apart. RCF and Rose have the additional advantage of being able to watch their individual behaviours once they fledge and are out of camera range, but until then, I'm going to check out their head/facial markings - they are both good looking chicks, so I'm always looking at their heads first, could be why I miss the tape colour at times!
Ellie:
Just chanced a look at the cam area and there they are resting...one sitting and one laying down..on the retainer wall. So nice to still have enough light to be able to see them. I'm sure they are comfy where they are but will go to bed soon in a safer place.
