The Peregrine Chick:
0920 hrs

Shift change in the nestbox and there is Brooklyn on-duty for hte morning ...

The Peregrine Chick:
0910 hrs

Hurricane is on the eggs in the morning sun.  Surprised to see her here, Brooklyn is usually the one I see at this time of the day.  If you can see their heads its easy to tell the two of them apart - he has a lovely white cheek patch, her's is kind of blurred so to speak.  Bit of a breeze in the box ruffling feathers but not enough to be more than a pleasant feeling while sitting in the sun ...

I thought that you or Dan clean out the nestbox each year, before the birds return. :-\ Must be really "yucky" up there, although not for a bird, I guess. ::)

Because the box is not hit by the light of the sunset, it looks like mid-day right now in Brandon (unlike at the Radisson).  Hurricane is dozing on the eggs and we can see her perfectly and in technicolour.  Every so often she has a little mutter but she's muttering to anyone, just muttering at the moment.

Ah, spoke too soon, the mid-incubation boredom has started to set in, she doing a bit of housecleaning but the Brandon box has lots (and LOTS) of debris so she doesn't really have to get off the eggs in order to play around with all sorts of disgusting bits of previous years' meals  :-X  ::)

Kinderchick:
What a magnificent photo of Brooklyn, rcf! Award winning, as far as I'm concerned! ;D :-*
