I have been trying the "rule of thumb" that you suggested RCF but guess I got my estimates wrong with the  "knothole".  Of course it helps if you can see the face also instead of the tail feathers.  I will get them sorted out yet!! ;D

Hurricane came back to the nest box just a few minutes after you posted TPC very quick change and as far as I can tell there has been no chick feed yet is this the norm?

1400 hrs

Box doesn't look nearly as wet as it did and Brooklyn (pretty sure) is dry and tucked in under cover and next to the wall.  Bit of wind blowing up his tail - but his tail is down flush with the box so he shouldn't get flipped if the wind picks up any more.

I missed the shift change. Brooklyn is in the nest now, Hurricane probably went to get take out food.

Has quite a scowl on in this picture and I can't blame her in the least. What a day for babies to be born in the out of doors, in the rain, hail, wind,you name it!! :'(  We need warmth and sunshine to dry everything all over Manitoba.  Hang in there Hurricane :-*

 Looks like she got wetter today than she did the other day.

Seems to have stopped for now.just had 20mls of rain a little hail and just before it stopped driving wind from the east. Poor Huricane looks pretty wet.

Poor Hurricane, the rain was coming in from the east for a bit.........she will be soaked!  I hope Brooklyn was some place where he could be relatively dry too.
