Dan retrieving the chicks for banding. I was standing pretty much on the street, so there is traffic noise.

There will be in a couple of days Bev - we've had enough requests that I'm going to set up a separate online donation tool and update the mail-in donation form.

Thanks Tracy for the report.
Is there a place to donate to provide for new box.
The Peregrine Chick:
Just checked playback ... yesterday (Sunday the 26th) the Brandon chicks were fed at 1135hrs then next at 1910hrs. This morning they were fed at 1010hrs, so don't panic quite yet. We'll keep an eye on them and if there are problems, back they will go to the wall box, but there shouldn't be. This box looks directly toward the tower and Hurricane and Brooklyn watched us put the chicks there. At the moment (1802hrs) the chicks are napping in a pile in the back of the new box so they obviously aren't perturbed - they are old enough to call out for their parents if they need them (they sure did enough of it when we took them inside to band them!!). A few hours or even a day without food at this age isn't going to harm these guys, they will just be hungry when they do get fed next.
So its watch and wait I'm afraid ...
The Peregrine Chick:
Hi All,
As RCF mentionned, both the chicks are male and look fine. Very very feisty, loved to grab hold of my fingers (not in a nice way) and even nibbled on my fingers some. Sorry gang, we thought we had sound for the banding, but no worries, you will catch up on the all noise (be sure to watch your volume!) when the video is posted.
"New" box is only temporary. Real new box will go back where the old one is - safer and more secure for the birds - and we are still going to install it later this summer so that it is ready for the birds' arrival next spring. This box will probably only be around for a couple of years while the building is undergoing renovations. Gives us some flexibility as the work continues around the birds.
It was mostly overcast but Dennis as he was shooting photos but he does have some charmers in the bunch, particularly of the chicks being exceedingly cute when they arrived in their new digs. The weather was a bit cool, but since we all had work to do on the roof, no one got cold. Afterwards we had a great lunch with good company and then it was time to head on off home, etc.
We have a short list of names for the Brandon boys ... should be posting them in the next day.
