As TPC & I headed out early this morning to get some work done on nest boxes in other locations we did come across and confirmed that "Jules" was on one of her favorite locations in West Winnipeg...photos will be coming as soon as I can get to them  :-\
Cheers !

The Peregrine Chick:
Here's our first note from our West Winnipeg Watcher ...

Hello again!

I have been absent from the forum so far this year (2011) due to some family medical issues.  This time it was my father; just about lost him in Feb but he somehow managed to pull through.  Prognosis is not great - 6 months to a year - but hopefully we can extend that.  I don't know how I would manage any more grief after having lost my beloved Musska last fall.

I also do taxes every year, so I am mostly away from work until after April 30th.  However, I did stop by my business today and had a look out the back door.  I'm sure that you are aware that we have at least one bird here so far.  I waited around for quite a while looking for #2 but no luck.

I will not be here much over the next month, however after that I plan to be active on the forum again this year, and will be happy to help out with fledge watch duties when the time comes.

Until then, sorry for my long absense, sorry for my next month of absense - (Yes, I do miss everyone!).  Looking forward to a happy and healthy nest full of falcons again this year!

The Peregrine Chick:
Haven't seen any one on their favourite buildings in the West Winnipeg territory or on the cams at the nestsite for the last few days.  Dennis is pretty sure he saw Jules north of the Radisson territory on a communication tower yesterday so maybe she's just waiting for all the snow to melt in the nestbox or maybe its warmer there.  I know that Madame often used to be found near Garden City when it got very cold downtown when she overwintered here.  Less wind we believed.
