Radisson - 2011 / Ivy & Princess
The Peregrine Chick:
Hot off the memory card, Wowzer has identified our male ... drum roll please ... and yes folks, Ivy is back downtown and up to hanky panky with Princess.
Dennis was just about to give up for the day when Ivy decided he wanted to head over to his "perch" on the Kensington Building. Dennis and Wowzer just happened to there and snap, snap, snap, whirrrr and we have the best image of Ivy's band we have had all year. A bit blurry because of the distance, but the horizontal 8 over vertical V is visible.
Also did some looking at photos last night and Sandy was the bird we were photographing two weekends ago - she has a beautiful full black cap on her head with nary a lighter coloured feather on it. And last weekend, with the help of Wowzer, we know it was Princess who was in command of the territory. So whoever thought they saw birds mantling their wings a week and a bit ago might have been seeing the stand off between Princess and Sandy or may have been seeing Ivy and Princess just starting to get re-acquainted after their separate holidays. Or maybe Princess was chewing him out about flirting with the floosie!

No, the crows won't get so much as a look at the eggs or chicks.
