1623 hrs

Ivy was on duty, then bolted for about 90 seconds and now he's back and all the "kids" are snuggled right back under him.  He's really got the hang of the incubation thing this year, he's certainly spent more time on them at this point than he did in the first couple of weeks last year!  Guess there is alot to be said for "youth and enthusiasm".  :D

Elmwood Cemetry...that is where my parents are buried.. Are you sure it was a bird and not a spirit?

...that's great mother hen!  would've loved to have seen that! closest I can come is being buzzed by a merlin in Elmwood cemetary that was whipping through the trees, chasing a bird - reminded me of nothing less than a fast-moving guided missile...

Very interesting indeed, it truly is an awesome thing (though not for the victim, it is true - likely a pigeon downtown).

It's pretty cool isn't it Mother Hen!
You really don't believe that what just happened, happened!
Nature at its best!

Mother Hen, add me to the list of the envious who haven't yet seen that sight.
I do understand the sense of shock that occurs for witnesses of violence.

Wow! I've watched for that but have never witnessed it. The way of the wild, mother hen. Amazing.

1233 hrs

Ivy's still on egg duty and has been since about 0900.  He took a quick break about 1130 but came back quickly and without lunch so Princess must be dining alone today ...

1010 hrs

Ivy is on the eggs, got his head tucked into the back of the nestbox.  Every so often I can see whisps of something go past the box so I suspect that Princess is have a second breakfast on the roof of the Radisson or one of the other (nearby) ledges.
