Princess having a "chat" with Ivy who was on the box edge ...now he's off ... maybe a meal is imminent ...

Or could have been her telling him to go away ... she tends to hog the chicks when they are hatching and very young ...

Within a few hours - little tot is all worn out from the effort of hatching and needs to dry off before being exposed to the cold temps we have right now. It is possible we won't see the first feeding, it may be too dark tonight or in the morning - it is usual for our chicks to get their first meal of the day (note that is not the same as their first meal after hatching) at about 4am ...

For those from away ... we have a frost warning for tonight in Winnipeg, though they say its unlikely.
